Fanhams Hall

These were a few images I took back in summer on a photography trip. The gardens in Fanhams Hall are so beautiful and give such a nice atmosphere, especially during the sunnier months.

Captivity

Although i haven't posted for a long while, i really wanted to spread awareness about the cruelty of whale and dolphin captivity. Even though I'm slightly late to this whole situation i still thought it was really important to share.

After watching the documentary 'Blackfish' (which i would highly recommend if you want to know more about the truth behind Sea World) i did further research and also ended up watching 'The cove' which is a documentary about dolphin slaughtering in Japan.

These creatures should be able to swim for miles in the ocean but instead they are cramped in concrete cages portraying clear signs of depression and aggression.
Animals are not there for our own entertainment which has been clearly demonstrated through the death of many sea world trainers. Not to mention the amount of sever boredom these mammals encounter, they do not deserve to spend their lives in a bath tub.
Although taking whales from the wild is banned, that gives no excuse for excessive use of artificial insemination just to ensure the company is making money. These ocean animals have the right to live the life that nature gave them and enjoy socialising with their family instead of being isolated with unfamiliar faces.

Obviously, i am not an expert when in comes to marine animals and how they behave but i know for a fact that they have a right to be free just like any other animal participating in circuses or zoos which are not put in place purely for protection.

Documentaries:

Watch The Cove (this is available for free on youtube)

Blackfish Trailer (you can watch the whole thing on Netflix in the Uk so I'm sure other countries will have it as well, if not there are short clips on youtube)

I know i haven't posted in a while, school and exams have just gotten in the way a bit, but i thought i'd share a few pictures from my day in London. It was a really lovely day and i hope these photos capture that!

Long Exposure - Cars at Night Time

This was my first attempt. I went up onto a bridge, put my camera on a long a shutter speed and captured these lights from the cars below.
I really like this one. While the camera was prossessing the photo, i gently move the camera on the tripod side to side which gave really swirly lights.
I'm not sure on this one, it reminds me too much of fireworks which is slightly irrelevant to what i actually wanted! However, i do think it is really interesting and i love the way the lights makes the sky really blue and vivid. To achieve this effect i moved the camera up and down instead of side to side.

An Autumn Day

This time of year is definitely my favorite season. I love the weather getting colder and the excitement of Christmas nearly approaching (which is only 8 weeks away, not that i've been counting or anything...).

One of the best things about autumn are the long walks in the woods, very stereotypical but the colour and the subtle light is just so pretty. I loved putting on my boots, wrapping up warm and taking these photos, i'm very excited to go out and take more as we get further into winter!

A Lazy Day

The first thing i love to do is have a long, hot shower. I've been really liking the new Garnier Ultimate Blends range, there are so many different options to choose from and they all smell absolutely amazing! The Iced Strawberry Dream shower gel has a really sweet scent and you can get this for like £4.00 which is really good especially for the amount you get.
Although Lush is one of my favourite bath/skincare brands, I've never actually been into a shop, it's always been gifts or samples in a magazine. Although, i recently went into the store in St.Albans and wow! It was so good, i didn't want to leave, everything was set out so perfectly and the smell was unbelievable. These are two of the products i picked up, i think doing a face mask on a lazy day is such a nice thing to do to relax.
Pyjamas are an essential when it comes to lazy days. The ones i'm wearing are from Primark and they are the softest, comfiest things ever, i have literally been living in these, even when it's hot and sunny outside, i refuse to take them off, i'm obsessed!
The last thing i like to do is read. I am really picky when it comes to books as i have a really short attention span so get bored easily. Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell, however, is amazing. I was gripped straight way and read it within a day which i think is a record for me. It's one of those books when afterwards you just stare into space trying to process what has just happend, i would definitely recommend it.

Isle Of Wight

On the first day we went to a little cafe and got a drink, mine was a strawberry smoothie.
We went down to the beach a lot and when it was sunny(not very often), the view was so pretty.

This ice cream was amazing, i got the same pretty much everyday - Mint Choc Chip with Blackberries and Cream.

Later on in the week, when we went for a walk along the rock we saw a fox sunbathing, he was so cute!
As it was lunch time, he was very interested in everyone food...
And ended up getting some bread!
